The Process

Sign up as a host

If you own a property, you can host it on Filmplace. Simply create a new listing, add some basic info like price, photos and features, and then click โ€˜Publishโ€™.
Filmplace is designed for production professionals in film, TV, and advertising. Production companies and content creators are vetted by our onboarding system.

Receive bookings

Your address and contact info are always kept private. Content creators will message you through Filmplace with questions, and booking requests. Once a creator is ready to move forward - you can schedule a location scout, and negotiate timings for setup and teardown.

Your propertyโ€™s base daily rate is just a guideline. You always have the opportunity to discount your price, or increase your rate based on the shoot.

Host a shoot - Get paid

If you donโ€™t want to be present for the shoot, Filmplace can provide a Site Rep to look after the property on your behalf. Creators are charged as soon as you accept their booking request. We will also put a hold on a security deposit.

The final payout will be deposited into your preferred bank account and is processed within 7 days of the start of the reservation.

What is Filmplace?

Filmplace is a marketplace that connects content creators with venue managers, making bookings for their filming easier for all. We currently have locations in 50+ countries, with thousands of production companies and content creators using the platform monthly.

What is PRO Host?

It is an exclusivity program initiated to better cater to our hosts. Hosts can now get a FREE one-time upgrade to Pro Host and enjoy greater benefits. Read more here.

How do I get paid?

Payouts will be deposited into your bank account that is submitted to us via Payout Preference and will be processed within 1-4 business days after the end of the reservation. The commission is deducted automatically, so you do not need to go back and forth with any invoices or transfers. Do also give an additional 2-3 business days for your local bank to process your payment.

What are Filmplace's fee?
Filmplace usually charges a flat service fee of 3-10% of the reservation subtotal when you receive payment. Additionally, we charge a fee to guests upon booking. In many regions, Filmplace automatically collects and remits sales taxes on your behalf.
We also offer a โ€œDo-it-for-youโ€ service where we handle everything for a flat service fee of 25%. This service includes managing your booking inquiries and requests, as well as direct communication with you, ensuring a smoother and seamless experience.
I'm not sure if my place is good enough

Producers and content creators are interested in all kinds of places. We have listings from homes, offices, cafe, all the way to a school. Even a parking lot can be a great place to film.

How am I protected from accident and damages?

Filmplace allows hosts to include a security fee in the legal contract between you (the host) and the creator. This ensures that the creator guarantees the security fee to cover any damages.

Additionally, Filmplace also partners with insurance companies to offer up to $2 million in property coverage in case of damages if you signup for our subscription plan. This service is currently available only in select countries.

How is my information protected? Will they be made public?
No personal information is shared on your listing or provided to any producer without your consent. Your listing will show your first name, photos of your space, and a map of your neighborhood but not your exact address.

Am I required to host all the time?

Not at allโ€”you control your calendar. You can host once a year, a few hours a month, or more often.

How much should I charge?
This is ultimately up to you and what you feel most comfortable with. Once you list, Filmplace can recommend a rental rate based on your location, property size, and decor. The offers you receive will differ based on the type of production team and their budget.
Your listed price is a guideline for the production team and we encourage you to stay flexible to decide on whether the production budget works for you on a case by case basis. Negotiation on Filmplace are always welcome!
